Skillet Spaghetti

Recipe Submitted by Donna ..|.. Index | Meat / Main Dishes

I can't tell you how many times that I've cooked this over the years. We have spaghetti several times a month in some form or another because it is the one thing that everyone seems to like. I make this particular recipe 2 or 3 times a month.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey or beef
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 26 oz. can spaghetti sauce, any flavor
  • 1 pound spaghetti noodles
  • Cheddar cheese, grated
  • salt
  • water

Directions

Brown the meat in a large skillet [12 inch skillet or electric skillet]. When the meat is done, salt to taste and add the chili powder.

Pour the spaghetti sauce into the pan. Fill the spaghetti sauce can with water and add to the pan. Bring to a boil. Break the noodles into 2 inch pieces and add to the simmering liquid. Stir, reduce the heat so that the spaghetti will simmer. Cover the pan. Simmer for 10 -12 minutes, stirring occasionally. When the noodles are soft, the spaghetti is done.

Turn the heat off the pan. Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese over spaghetti. Place the lid back on the pan until the cheese melts. Serve.

Optional add ins:
Extra seasonings such as garlic powder or basil

serves 4-5
