How to use the Dynamic Planners DPList and DP-S-T
Number System
These two planners are list planners, at donnayoung.org I usually call them row planners. In DPList and DP-S-T, lessons are presented in a list sorted by subject. The list planners are more likely to require individual row adjustments than any of the other planners. To me, that is a disadvantage, but they are nice planners just the same.
Differences Between DPList and DP-S-T
The differences are few
- DPList is formatted to show gray backgrounds on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but only if there are lessons on those days. DP-S-T has no gray stripes (DPList pictured below (1st two images)
- DP-S-T displays teacher's notes, if there are any, in-line next to the lesson plans. There is a rather wide awkward space between the lesson plan and the note. Pictured below (last image)
Using DPList and DP-S-T
Before printing:
Assuming the dates and lessons are already set
- Choose a student from the drop-down list in C2
- Choose to Show Days or Hide Days in the drop-down list in D3. This shows or hides Mon, Tues -- etc. Helpful if you do not want days of the week attached to the lessons.
- Adjust row heights - annoying because you might have to adjust some rows individually.
- Check the lessons - okay?
- Check print preview
- Print
