Scott Tissue sheets used to be larger. The rolls used to fit just right in my circa 1968 built in toilet tissue holders. I could barely remove a full roll if I put it on wrong. Those were the days! Now that they have grossly reduced the width of the rolls, removing a full roll is not a problem. Scott tissue 1000 sheet rolls now measure a skimpy 4.1″ x 3.7.” That 3.7″ size is the width, which is not wide enough.

That just stinks. Makes me angry when products are reduced.

Me too! I’m going to be comparing tissue sizes and square footage of rolls. I used to weigh boxes of ice cream cones. Those are almost always underweight by way too much. The crooks!

I just noticed the difference in the size of the sheets, at first I thought I was mistaken but I had an empty roller in the trash can that I purchased just last month and the difference is obvious, really irritates me. If they made it bigger they would advertise that but not if its smaller, why not be fair?
Donna Young says
Mildred, I agree!
Jack Jennings says
Don’t just whine and moan here! By the way, the core is also bigger which make the roll lower in the dispenser. Send your complaint to Scott on the form at http://www.scottbrand.com/community/contact or call telephone numbers 888-525-8388 or 800-834-7268. Ask where you can still buy the previous size rolls.

Thank you for the contact information. I wrote them last week, but haven’t heard back yet.
Edit: Oct. 25 – They sent coupons in the mail. That is nice and all, but not a solution.

Worked for Scott 32 years just opened a 12 roll 1000 sheet pack. This is not the same scott tissue we have been using even before I went to work for them. It is unpleasant to use, not near as soft it, is course and rough. They say they made it stronger but now I wonder if it will dissolve in my septic system. I’m afraid Kimberly-Clark who bought them out is going to lose a lot of loyal forty year customers. Advertisement may sale to start with but a good product is what keeps them coming back. A customer much, much easier to keep that to get one back.

I thought that I purchased the new, special “Childrens’ Size” tissue. Shame on Scott—there is nothing more frustrating than when a company dupes loyal customers. Did you also notice that the toilet paper role is larger in diameter?
Off to purchase another brand for me.

I thought I would find others who have similar problems with Scott tissue. As I wrote to them, I have used nothing but Scott for over 50 years but I have bought my last roll. From now on it’s Charmin which is the same size as we are used to. If I wanted to use the new smaller size tissue I would move to France but I really like living in this country and am sad that this old standby has gone the cheap route. As I told them in my message, “Charge more if you must, but don’t change a thing.”
Diane says
I agree…smaller in width yet charging the same (if not more)for less product…Now you are taking the tube away…Empire stat bldg??I don’t think so…Recycle…indeed…Stop gold lining your pockets and giver us our product back the it should be…I can’t believe what a rip off big companies are becoming
Deb says
My husband told me that it is all in my imagination….I knew if I searched, I would find the truth! We are getting ripped off! I want the old paper back! I can“t remember ever using anything but Scott. Not too sure now!

I noticed this about 4 months ago in my area. I, like you, Donna, noticed how it looked on my toilet tissue holder (I guess you can’t do something for 30+ years & not notice a change). Then I was in a local $ store & they had both sizes on the shelf: regular & new smaller (shorter?). I bought all the packages of old ones left there. What’s annoying to me is that they can still say 1000 sheets per roll and that be the truth. It is a real slime-ball way to treat loyal customers. Scott has always been the best deal going; a roll of Scott lasts so much longer than a roll of other tissues. I still think that is true, but the downsizing on the sneak really bugs me.
Deb says
so now i have noticed that the toilet tissue is about 1/8 inch shorter comparing the old new and my newest purchase…. this really bites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and, on top of losing the size, it is now thinner than ever! I may as well use my fingers to wipe my butt!
Janey, Texas, I don’t know if you can get this in Texas because i can not get it in Florida, but, MARCAL used to be the best deal when I could get it, I don’t know if they are cheating us like Scott is, may want to try it…
