Basic Granola

This granola is a tad boring. We usually eat it with plain Dannon yogurt. The addition of dried or fresh fruit would be good too.

Ingredients

5 cups dry oats, raw
4 teaspoons olive oil
3 tablespoons honey
1/2 cup walnuts
1/4 cup almonds

Directions

Combine oats and oil. Spread in a jelly-roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Drizzle honey over hot oats. Stir the oats and place the pan back into the oven. Bake an additional 10 minutes. Remove from oven, reduce heat to 300 degrees. Add walnuts and almonds to the hot oats. Stir and put the mixture back into oven and bake an additional 5-10 minutes.

The product should be golden colored. Do not allow to burn! Cool and store in an airtight container.

This cereal is dense. A serving is 72 grams or around 2/3 cup, serves about 8.
It can be eaten as it or with fruit, plain yogurt, or milk.
